Laughter Therapy originated in
India
where laughter clubs are a part of everyday life. This concept of laughter for health was pioneered by Dr. Madan Kataria who along with Dr. Om Kharbanda were proponents and teachers of various laughter/ healing/ health methods. Steve Wilson an American psychologist went to
India
to study their methods and returned to the
U.S.
inspired and with adaptations to suit the western mentality; certain laughter and attitudinal practises he found could be systematized and taught in order to influence both peace and health. Steve studied laughter in depth and asked and answered many questions about work with laughter. Steve has dedicated his life to the study of laughter and it’s health benefits and has developed a certified laughter leader program designed to teach others how to lead laughter workshops and educate the public about the health benefits of laughter.
This superb program has been found credible by professional organizations of nurses, psychologists, councelors, activity therapists, health educators, marriage and family therapists and social workers. Currently over 2,100 people have completed this remarkable training designed by Steve Wilson and qualified for the distinct designation of Certified Laughter Leader. Now laughter clubs are popping up in communities all over the world and thousands of people are reaping the benefits of this unique and fun system of health.
Laughter Workshops are incredible and provide light to moderate laughter exercise for mental & physical flexibility, enhanced performance at work, mood regulation, stress reduction and attitude boost. In other words, a real therapeutic ally. This extremely fun educational and energizing workshop will leave you feeling electric and ready to face the challenges of every day life. The program works well in corporations, schools, senior’s centres, long term care and hospitals, workplaces, fitness centres, and support communities, libraries, and public parks. A typical group participating in a laughter workshop is between 5-25 people, but can be larger. Our workshops are a safe, non judgmental and comfortable place to express yourself and laugh out loud.
If you love to laugh then this program is for you!
